Make Benchmarks pricing affordable for indies

Considering what I would assume the majority of your analytics data, is coming from indie games, why are you pricing indies out of Benchmarks+ ?
Give us a nice rate if we earn less than $100k annual revenue.
Asking indies to pay ~$375-~$450 a month just puts this tool out of touch for most of us. I know there is now a free version, but would be nice to have an affordable PRO version.

Hi Greg,
I think that’s a good point and it’s something we discussed doing already.
The most popular data is the very top quantiles (2-10%) which are actually not frequently indie games. However, supporting the indie community is a big part of GA and we want to continue to do it, so that more indies can grow to be in those quantiles.
A preferential price for indies, in particular, is not easy to apply as a practical measure today. We discussed doing this by GA tracked traffic, but studios choose which builds or titles they add to GA so this method is far from perfect.
At the same time, we are a small team and we don’t have the capacity to manually evaluate hundreds of companies every month to see if they qualify as indies.
One other option we are considering is for instance connecting with the App Store account - as that would allow us to automate the evaluation process and the store account would include all titles published by the studio. This seems like a good potential solution, and a store integration is on our roadmap for the next few months.
In short... we do take supporting the indie community very seriously as one of our goals, we are working on better ways to do this, the free tier itself is a start to that, and we will do more in the future. We are balancing a roadmap and resources like any team, but we’re for sure trying to be as helpful as we can with the resources we have.
I hope this helps give some clarity on where we are.
Thanks,
Ioana
