When in Explore view, you can set the date range to "Past 7 days" and it loads 7 days of data. When selecting to Group By: Time: Days, your charts will get 7 discrete points on the chart.

When saving an Explore view, you are asked for a default time period. One of the options is Past 7 Days. After saving, you can load the View. When doing this, it loads 8 days of data. Again selecting Group By: Time: Days, this time you will get 8 discrete points on the chart.
